Camshaft installation precautions

  1. Proper valve spring tension
    To reach best forces, the maximum spring travel (when spring wires contact each other) is usually the max lift of the camshaft plus 1.2-1.5mm
  2. Safe piston-valve clearance
    There must be at least 1.5-2.0mm clearance at valve overlap.
    Warning, valves may have 5mm lift at TDC!
  3. Correct valve clearances according to the table
  4. Min. 1300-1500rpm idle speed
  5. High quality, synthetic oil
